"Soaps In Depth gives a Gold Star to Rebecca Herbst and describes her talent in ways fans have been claiming for years!"
- Jen [The Canvas]
"Her subtle contrast in extremes makes Rebecca Herbst one of the most underrated actresses in daytime."

"Herbst has always been a steady, consistent force on GH. She has made Elizabeth the heroine who never says die, the good girl who trusts with her heart, a beacon of light in some otherwise dark lives. Herbst's every scene, every line, every look is authentic. A mere glance at her expressive face can make us smile or cry, feel comforted by her or afraid for her. In short, she never fails to deliver."

No one can break a heart into a million pieces like Rebecca Herbst!
I had to post about this because I was so happy that Rebecca Herbst was FINALLY getting the recognition she has deserved for over a decade! Rebecca Herbst is such an amazing actress that I sometimes can't find words to describe how sensational she is! I have always thought so -- even before she landed the role of Elizabeth Webber on General Hospital. I just knew that this girl was going to be incredible and she did not disappoint. In fact, she originally auditioned for the role of Sarah Webber. The writers were so disappointed that she didn't fit the role of the perfect, goody-two-shoes Sarah Webber, that they
invented the character of Elizabeth Webber just to keep Rebecca Herbst on General Hospital!
I have watched General Hospital for several years now and out of all the characters, Elizabeth is one of my all-time favorites! I could talk endlessly about this character. Elizabeth is the bad girl turned good girl. She grew up rebellious and came to Port Charles as a force to be reckoned with. She had a support network of family and friends, and yet she still felt alone... always searching for her true self, never quite figuring out who that was. As the sister of the "perfect" Sarah Webber, Liz always resented everyone constantly praising Sarah for "being so wonderful... unlike Elizabeth." After her rape, she stopped being vindictive but never stopped feeling like she had to smile around everyone when she was crying inside. Then she met a man who made her feel alive and just let her be without having to pretend to be happy -- she just was. He changed her life and she saved his. Elizabeth learned how to be independent and began to feel like there's so much more to life.
Elizabeth is everything! She is the most real character on the show. She's a passionate artist and a motorcycle-riding junkie. She always lives her life on her terms. She's feisty and doesn't take any crap from anyone, so she gives as good as she gets. She's a survivor! Elizabeth is smart and so strong even though sometimes she doesn't think she is. She's caring and honest and loyal to a fault. She hasn't always been lucky in love, but that doesn't stop her from loving. The girl has gradually grown into a wonderful woman right before my eyes, which is why I relate to this character more than any character on television. After everything Elizabeth has been through in her life, she manages to rise above it every single time. That's what I admire about this character and it's all thanks to Rebecca Herbst for portraying her that way. She has made Elizabeth's character into what she is and I honestly can't imagine any other actress in the role!
